Dear Colleagues in Education:

We would like to invite you and your students to take advantage of a very special opportunity to attend the Democracy In Action Seminar sponsored by the Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation (CICF).  Since 1998, the Washington Workshops Foundation (WWF) has had the honor of partnering with the CICF to create this important seminar experience for students from across the United States to gain a first hand perspective on the inner workings of the US Congress, the Federal Government and an interactive overview of the history and dynamic nature of our Nation’s Capital.

The program is scheduled to take place in Washington, DC from June 13-18, 2010.  The CICF would like to invite students who qualify from Hawaii, Maine and Louisiana to attend.  The CICF grant provides a full scholarship that includes round trip airfare to Washington, DC, accommodation at Marymount University, all meals as outlined in the program (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), ground transportation in Washington, DC for the seminar program, and all entrance fees and materials. The only item students will have to take care of will be their round trip ground transportation from their home to their departure airport (Hawaii = Honolulu, Maine = Portland, Louisiana = New Orleans) and their personal spending money.

Qualified students should be finishing their Junior or Sophomore year in High School, maintain a B average or above in school, possess a high level of academic preparedness and the ability to demonstrate a level of behavior and professional maturity that exceeds other high school study tours of this nature.

If you would like your school to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity, please contact Tom Crossan or Lisa Gautier to learn more at (800) 368-5688 or tom@workshops.orglisa@workshops.org.

Please also feel free to explore the program website to learn more about this exceptional opportunity!  Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
