The Washington Workshops Foundation offers The Washington Internship Experience to motivated students interested in having a hands-on, in-depth learning experience in Washington, DC. The primary component of this Advanced Workshops Seminar is a three to six week internship in Washington DC. Our Alumni have interned in many of the following offices:
- Congressional Offices (House and Senate)
- Congressional Committee Offices
- Political Campaign Offices (DNC, RNC, College Republicans, College Democrats)
- State Gubernatorial Offices (Hall of States)
- Non-Profit Organizations and NGO’s (Pan American Health Organization, American Rivers.
Students are housed at a nearby college campus with charter bus transportation arranged each day to and from their offices in Washington, DC. The students are supervised throughout the program by a resident staff providing continuous attention and mentoring. The Washington Workshops also presents academic and leadership training tutorials to prepare students for their office responsibilities and ensure their academic development.
In 2010, participants may begin the internship program any three to six week period starting Sunday, June 13 through Saturday, July 24. Students are also invited to participate in our Congressional Seminar from June 20-25, 2010 before beginning their internship. |
